The Vielpfalz Zeitung newspaper published a portrait of my work. In particular, we talked about my current film and dance production of “Sacre du Printemps” with the German State Philharmonic Orchestra.
The following portrait appeared in the last issue of Vielpfalz:
Isabella Freilinger, author, director, actress
"We need space for a very large orchestra and also for dancing. Where does something like that even work?" This question occupied Isabella Freilinger and the team of the German State Philharmonic Orchestra Rhineland-Palatinate with regard to Igor Stravinsky's ballet music "The Rite of Spring." With Ludwigshafen's Friedrich-Ebert-Halle – the photo was taken in front of it – they found a venue with "a very special atmosphere," the author, director, and actress is certain. The concert performance (Thursday, September 8th, 7:30 p.m.) will be staged as a "modern fairy tale for all generations." In addition to music, film sequences and dance, ranging from ballet to hip-hop to ballroom dancing, will ensure a special live performance. A tailor-made project for
Freilinger, who has lived in Heidelberg, Palatinate, for eleven years and develops and implements ideas for television stations, film producers, and cultural institutions. Born in 1991 in Bludenz, Austria, the multi-talented artist, who is a great fan of Stravinsky's music, has created a contemporary story for the Eberthalle. "A woman follows a group of environmentalists into the magical forest and experiences herself as part of nature," says Freilinger, who is fascinated by the teamwork involved in the project. It is also exciting to see how an idea is developed further in the process. It became so large that the Eberthalle was needed for its realization.
